anyone hear this one yet? I wants.

As I hear, it's supposedly faster and more unrelenting, black metal-ish than last year's more sombre, doomier Battlefields

Not yet. Isn't it supposedly their last effort?

Altough, I was never a fan of their more fast paced stuff.

Yes, their last effort indeed. I can agree with you, the only Hate Forest I like is the old ambient stuff and "Battlefields".

Yay, that's what I like to hear; Battlefields did nothing at all for me and I'm actually selling it to Hell Mike. I actually enjoyed the folk songs more than the metal :p

Though if the new album is like Purity in its essence but with a touch of the epicness (epicixcixaity?) of Battlefields then it might be supar win and floor me utterly.

Correction: It's already out if you want to pay the jew rate from supernal music (12 pounds sterling I think)

personally I loved "Purity" and "To Those Who Came Before Us" so I've got high hopes for this one.

Oh wow, I totally forgot about this what with the new Nokturnal Mortum and new Drudkh. I will have to hunt it down on the internet.

How is that one compared to Purity? I'm a bit hesitant getting it since an unfounded notion of it sucking (as in being very repetitive and basically a crude proto-Purity album) has stuck in my mind :|

Well, actually it's just a new song + the Blood & Fire + Ritual EPs on a tape. The new song itself is pretty damn awesome, the blood and fire EP is pretty cool (far better than "Most Ancient Ones" material, but not quite on par with Purity stuff) and the Ritual EP is more or less ambient (fires of burning churches and chants).

I just heard "Sorrow". Incredibly raw, fast and malevolent raging black metal.

The sound of the album is somewhere between "The Curse" and "Purity" and exactly the same as the "Resistance" EP. They were probably both recorded in the same session. My only complaint is that all the songs suddenly cut off (like on the EP) and it would have been so much better if they had the decency to do a fadeout on each song rather than as they are.

Perfect for fans of old Hate Forest, Beware fans of Battlefields.

Sounds interesting, though I wont have any money to spend on music for some time and there are simply too much good albums I feel a need to get so Sorrow will likely be pushed towards the end of the queue :|

Btw, Blut und Eisen will/has release(d) a vinyl version of Battlefields
