heart-red velvet car

I'll check it out...Ann Wilson is my favorite female singer ever. I like how they've taken back their music and go for a folky, Zeppelin, 70s inspired sound...as much as I enjoyed their 80s, AOR output, I understand that this era is Ann & Nancy's least favorite for the band and they have no desire to repeat it....but Ann Wilson could sing the dictionary and it would be amazing.

Ditto. Saw Heart back in the 80s and Ann was absolutely amazing and always has been..... in fact, the whole band was amazing really. I "liked" their 80's stuff, but for the most part I did like the early Heart stuff better. I hate Howard Leese isn't involved in the new Heart though. I really like his guitar style.

In spite of my favourite Heart era is the last 80´s ("Brigade" and "Bad Animals" are overwhelming for me) I admit that "real Heart" is the 70´s stuff and "Jupiter´s darling" album. I like them too and I hope this new album will be very good.

It would be great seeing Wilson sisters live but it´s an utopia thinking that they´d play in Spain where Heart hasn´t relevant following.

I actually heard one song onon a classic radio station while camping, so I have my hopes up it will be a good listen. Been a long time since I've picked up a Heart album.

unfortunately the same can be said for almost any band that started before 1985.

There plenty of bands from the 70's that are doing it at a high level; Scorpions, UFO, ZZ Top come to mind... Accept is a good example of a bad that isn't mialing it in. Twisted Sister is another...You don't ahe to look hard to find good bands from the 70's or 80's that are still playing and recording at a high level.

is it better than jupiters darling? what makes the songs boring?

Having not heard that release, I can't say how they compare, I LOVE old 70's to early 80's Heart, and I just felt unmoved by anything on the latest cd sans a couple songs. I wasn't expecting much, and while Ann can still belt it out, I found most of the new cd to be lackluster and uninspiring.

twisted sister does not record new material really but yes they are still great live.

ZZ TOP phones it in live and hasn't had a great album in over a decade. i enjoy the newer stuff but the albums are not that great.

i saw the scorpions a few months ago and the new albums are great but live everything seemed to be slowed down.

accept just released a great new album as did overkill.

heart is still a great band live and i thought there last album was pretty good but too long

i just got it and took 1 listen. no comment on it yet but i do know to wait 6 years for something less than 40 minutes is a shame. i'll comment on the album after a second listen but right now my main opinion is not long enough where as jupiters darling was too long and needed 3-4 songs trimmed off.

if anyone hasn't purchased it yet target has 2 bonus tracks but no clue what they are. too bad i found out after i bought it

just gave it a 2nd listen. jupiters darling was better overall because it rocked harder in places and the songs were catchier. jupiters darling was too long, maybe drop 3 songs and it would have been great. it had a slight grunge feel which i though was cool because the main bands from the grunge movement embraced heart even after the 80's hair metal stuff.

overall the new album does contain 3-4 great tracks but the nancy wilson tunes are very 2010 commercial. a lot of acoustic stuff too
