Heaven Shall Burn: what a cheery name. “Echoes” serves as the foreboding intro with its orchestral arrangements relaying sadness. “The Weapon They Fear” begins bombastically as the quintet spew forth riffs akin to God Forbid. Rhythms are fast-paced and the production, while not impeccable, is far better than satisfactory. Synths arrive about the 2:30 minute mark, and successfully elevate its mood. The vocals (both clean and distorted) are not extraordinary, but they are sufficient not to warrant complaint(s).

“The Only Truth” is an exemplification of the band's tightness and unity. Melodic brutality unearths itself in “Voice of the Voiceless,” while “Numbing the Pain” utilizes similar traits. “Risandi Von” is a captivating track that reeks of desolation, or the moments right before. “Deyjandi Von” is the last classical treat, and it really proves that the interludes are just as vital as the other tracks. There is definitely harmony to be found within Antigone, and I can’t get over how good the drums sound.

Heaven Shall Burn are far from groundbreaking, but their penchant for the inclusion of melody and harmony, coupled with brutality, should attract more than a few dedicated listeners. I see them only going up from here. And, if they stay on the path they’re treading, the releases to follow should be most tantalizing.
