The vocalist's lows are pretty close to Vincent Bennett's of The Acacia Strain. Heavy man, nice mix, you did well.

I loveeee heavy bass mixes, but they might be a TID too loud at a certain frequency. Guitars could use more high mids imo.

But the mix sounds reeally really nice. I'd deff jam to this album

Agreed! It was weird. The band was originally supposed to have somebody else master the album.. Those people mastered it, and the band hated it (It sounded pretty bad), so then I had to UN master it to master it haha. Pretty odd.

nice automation btw. the snare and kick seem to be loud. but. they arent, its just a matter of eq. kick is too clicky which gives it great height over the rest of your mix. and the snare has too much 180-300 hz pooph after the initial snare hit... so find a way to make its less bassy on the decay. your mix will be 10% better after your do those 2 things.

how did you unmaster it?:Puke:

I tried lots of things. Luckily there was no limiter used before it was sent to me. So, I eq'd the HELL out of it.

I then used a MID/SIDE mastering method to zero in on bad frequencies/boosted some others. The master I was sent sounded really weak/frail. The guitars had no power at all, so for the "sides" I boosted some mids and did a few other things. It was kind of difficult honestly, but it all worked out well.

Reminds me a lot of Continent except I like the drums in this mix a lot better lol

I agree with rchoi54 tho about the guitars may be a tiny bit too scooped. That's me being as critical as possible tho lol

the guitars sound to scooped, the kit and doesn't sound present enough, and the vocals sound way too low in the mix..

that said, everything is actually sounding really good, it just sounds like it lacking some aggression.

thanks,
