Heavy metal production (my dissertation)

Can anybody give me any names of books/PDF on heavy metal production. This can be either how other genres of music have influenced heavy metal production or how different technologies/microphones have changed the way heavy metal is recorded, mixed or mastered.

I only have a month to do this dissertation (i left it FAR TOO LATE) and this would be a big help.

While it may not be really what your looking for, I found the series that SOS magazine did on Extreme Metal Mixing to be a good overview of what goes into a modern metal production. It was a two part series by Mark Mynett and included input from Andy Sneap and Russ Russell. You can find it over at the SOS site, it may cost you $1.49 to purchase each article if you do not have an e-sub with them. It's been one of the only dedicated pieces I've seen for modern metal production.
