Alright...First of all I'd like to tell you guys that I'm a fan of Helloween, but have never been the biggest fan in the world. I think these guys are one of the biggest name power metal will ever have and their career has solid albums (despite a few songs that are bumps on the road).

I have just listened to their new record, Gambling With the Devil, and I was expecting it to be on the same level as the last one, Keepers pt. 3...

All I can say is.... "Wow"

I didn't have the greatest expectations in the world for this record, but holy fuck... This is amazing. It's an overall heavy album, with killer production and really well written songs. Yes, it's Helloween, so you know what to expect. Some songs you'll get the feeling that "it sounds like something else". Guess what? It's fine. There's a lot of awesome orchestration in some of the songs, and the hooks are really there all the time. Excellent album!!

Let me know what you guys think when you get to hear it. I may be the only nutjob to like it, but c'est la vie.:rock::rock:

I haven't liked anything they did since Time of the Oath/Better Than Raw/The Dark Ride... but I always hold out hope for whatever new disc they release. They're sort of like my Queensryche. ;)

Hopefully it is more like The Dark RIde. What album would you compare it too?

I sure didn't have high expectations for this disc, but suprisingly after listening to it this evening I thought it was pretty good. There's some generic material to be found here, but a suprising number of tracks I found interesting. It's only one listen, but my first impressions are favorable .. thumbs up .. so far.
