Helloween - Gambling with the Devil

There was another thread about 2-3 weeks ago. It's a decent disc, not gonna make my top 10 for 2007, but a good listen.

As I stated the album is better than the last two. That doesn't mean they have recaptured the power of the early Deris era or back to the early Kiske era. Is a decent album but I agree with Sixxi that they're loosing fuel rapidly. And the competetion out there is fierce so they now are not leading anymore IMO.

it's okay but how many times can you put out an okay album? We need something from them that kicks serious ass...

Totally agree another "Time Of The Oath" or "The Dark Ride", more stamina.

Helloween have gotten too comfortable cranking out good, but "safe" albums...

Way too safe IMO. I kknow many disagree but for me Helloween are the fathers of power metal at least the European version. So here it is a band that progressed from speed to power always leading and suddenly after TDR *crack* they becoming just another band among the thousands that started after them, followers not leaders.

So it's not the dark but amazing TDR, not the great TTOTO, not the classic KOTSK, not even the happy happy Helloween so much Weikath has been preaching about. I agree with RMM that the album has some fine moments but mostly lame fillers. Still is better than the last two.

I'm going to buy it so basically I'm complaining for the sake of it, but I wish they stop for a moment look back and rethink how to go forward.
