HELLOWEEN - RABBIT DON'T COME EASY

After a much publicized band split over the direction that Helloween should take, the band decided the best they could do was to hire the new members and head to Andi's studio in Spain to record their latest Rabbit Don't Come Easy. It should come as no surprise that this album has absolutely nothing in common with the pumpkin's last effort The Dark Ride but rather with their trademark fast and happy sound of previous works. This is the Helloween that we have all come to love and the band, reenergized with new blood, have responded in kind with an album that rivals the band's best works.
From the infectious opening single "Just A Little Sign" (I swear this should be heard on radios all over this country) to the reggae parts of the Michael Weikath penned and interestingly titled "Nothing to Say", this album just doe not stop with the energy, the fun and the surprises. "The Tune" features Weiki's trademark writing with its uplifting and energetic tempo as well as a great sing-a-long chorus that sticks in your head even as the album continues.
The contributions by new members Sascha Gerstner (guitar) and Mikkey Dee (studio drummer, Stefan Schwarzmann is not the official drummer) are not only by just playing their instruments, in which both do a fabulous job, but by also contributing in the song-writing department. Sascha co-wrote some of the albums catchiest songs like "Open Your Life" and "Listen to the Flies" (my favorite song) and as a guitar team Sascha and Weiki perfectly mold together.
This is a new era for Helloween and for a band that started in the mid-80's they still sound as fresh as ever. Rabbit Don't Come Easy is a no-brainer must buy.
