HELMET Reunite, Plan New Album
Guitarist/vocalist Page Hamilton has teamed up with ex-ORANGE 9MM guitarist Chris Traynor and ROB ZOMBIE members Blasko (bass) and John Tempesta (drums) in an all-new version of HELMET, the acclaimed alt-rock outfit that is widely credited for the the jagged riffing and stop-start rhythms utilized by many "nü-metal" bands, including LIMP BIZKIT, DISTURBED and CHEVELLE.

Former NINE INCH NAILS keyboardist Charlie Clouser will produce the group's record, and a tour is being planned, according to MTV.com. In the meantime, the retrospective "Helmet Unsung: The Very Best of Helmet (1991-1997)" is due September 23.

This is newsworthy. Helmet made some good music. Page Hamilton was always the brains behind everything too. It will be interesting to hear what the new Helmet sound like.

Yes I think we care, Johnny Tempesta is a Testament band member & we do care about him & whats going on musically with his career.........what I really don't care about is you not caring!

Hehe... sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone! You are right to say that it's interresting since John Tempesta is in the project... But I just didn't picture that many thrash fans being fans of Helmet.

Than again, it really is only a matter of taste and my opinion is one in a million. I don't like what they did in the past and I don't think I will like it any more today because John is in it...

Still... I'm sorry if I offended any Helmet fans... but I really am even more sorry if I offended some of John's fan besause I like him just as much as anybody here!!!

I can a little harsh sometimes, I took you literally, I was never a real Helmet fan either(although they had their moments), but Johnny is an amazing drummer, & he's told me he's been jamming with Page(the guitar groove was the best thing about Helmet) for awhile, & he's excited about the collaberation & the music they've put together so far. So we''ll have to wait & see........I'm sure your taste & opinions do matter, & we are all Testament fans, to begin with!..............So it's all good!

HELMET Reunion A No-Go: Spokesperson - Aug. 25, 2003 Contrary to published reports, HELMET have no plans at present to reunite for a tour in conjunction with a retrospective of the group's three studio albums for Interscope, due on November 4 through Universal Records.

A management spokesperson for HELMET frontman Page Hamilton told Billboard.com that he was unsure how the rumor began, but confirmed that Hamilton is working on a new project with late-period HELMET guitarist Chris Traynor, among others. The two musicians recently played together on tracks intended for BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale's solo debut.

According to the spokesperson, Hamilton is no longer pursuing his band GANDHI, which featured former WHITE ZOMBIE drummer John Tempesta and ROB ZOMBIE bassist Rob Nicholson.

Hamilton is currently unsigned, a fact that he found mildly irritating in light of the band's widespread influence among today's up-and-coming rock acts.

"They're more reluctant to sign someone who's 40 years old and known for this certain thing," Hamilton told Billboard.com in January. "'We think you're the greatest. We respect you so much, but how do we market this?' you go see a band and they're playing a riff I wrote 10 years ago and they have a wallet chain and a load in their pants and they'll get signed."

By the way , on a funny note ............... ROB ZOMBIE bassist Rob Nicholson .......... Also know as "Blasko" is also named "Rob" as well if you noticed. I heard that Rob #1 (zombie) made him change his name so that no one would confuse #2 with the big super star. HAHAH , kinda hard to do that....

I heard that the solo project has been put aside, but Johnny Tempesta will be drumming on the new Helmet.............

Will he also be drumming on a new Testament record? In a recent interview with Chuck which someone posted here a few months ago, he said that Tempesta is actually recording with Testament now.
