I am having a d.i. issue. Whenever I try to record a d.i. track and split the signal to go out to my amp I have some serious hum issues. The hum only exists when both an xlr and 1/4" through are plugged in at the same time--I dont even need to have anything plugged into the input for this to happen. I have tried turning on and off the ground several times and it does nothing--just changes the pitch of the hum. The strange thing is this severe hum problem occurs with my nice active radial d.i. and my passive littlelabs Redeye, but whenever I use my cheap whirlwind I don't have the problem. Only my nice d.i.'s aren't working..... Does anyone have any ideas that may help remedy this? I feel as though I have tried everything (i.e. moved d.i. box distance around the room from electronic sources, swapped cables, tried balanced and unbalanced cables etc etc)
