Here comes the Fed NAZIS

That's bizarre! I didn't even know that this company existed. I'll be interested to see what exact charges are brought against them.

Most likely, they'll be accused of not reporting gold sales to the government, which is still a law in force even though owning gold was legalized in 1974.

But these guys also print paper currency!

Which means, they'll be accused of producing fraudulent scrip, which is akin to counterfeiting. The secret service boys must've had fun with these guys...!

Some guy on their website says: "There is no law that says goods and services must be paid for with Federal Reserve notes. Parties entering into a transaction can establish any medium of exchange that is agreed upon."

Right, but there are laws on the books establishing the U.S. Treasury Dept. as the sole arbiter of legal tender currency. And the Treasury did away with Legal Tender notes in 1963, when we dumped the silver standard. Since then, the Treasury Dept. kisses the ass of the Federal Reserve, which in turn has its monopoly defended by the full military force of the Secret Service and FBI.

Simple as that. This company can raise all kinds of moral platitudes about how unjust this raid is (and it certainly is), but they haven't a legal bucket to piss in once their asses are dragged to court.

Unfortunately.

Hey. They were offering RON PAUL dollars! Yeah, he supports the gold standard. Wonder how much those are worth after this raid?!

Our buddy Ron Paul introduced a bill in December to repeal the sort of law that's being used against Liberty Dollar.

The Free Competition in Currency Act of 2007 (Introduced in House) HR 4683 IH, 110th CONGRESS, 1st Session

To amend title 18, United States Code, to repeal certain superfluous sections of criminal law which may be subject to prosecutorial abuse.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

December 13, 2007
Mr. PAUL introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

A BILL
To amend title 18, United States Code, to repeal certain superfluous sections of criminal law which may be subject to prosecutorial abuse.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Free Competition in Currency Act of 2007'.

SEC. 2. REPEAL OF SUPERFLUOUS SECTIONS.

(a) In General- Title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking sections 486 (relating to uttering coins of gold, silver, or other metal) and 489 (making or possessing likeness of coins).

(b) Conforming Amendment to Table of Sections- The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 25 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking the items relating to the sections stricken by subsection (a).

(c) Special Rule Concerning Retroactive Effect- Any prosecution under the sections stricken by subsection (a) shall abate upon the taking effect of this Act. Any previous conviction under those sections shall be null and void.

That last little bit is added to get the Liberty Dollar guys off the hook ever since that FBI raid in November!

Ya know, after reading a list of his bills on THOMAS at http://thomas.loc.gov, Ron DR. NO Paul has a lot of bills that involve repealing laws. He's got a really good record in Congress.
