Former QUEENSRŸCHE frontman Geoff Tate is offering his fans a chance to join him on a Pacific Northwest tour in January 2020. In a newly released two-minute video promoting the offer, Tate says: "It seems like I've been on the road for about 40 years straight. I spend more time on the road traveling than I do at home. I thought that other people might find what I do interesting, and so I started a touring company called Back Stage Pass Travel to take people on the road with me and show them my world. "Not only do we take people on sightseeing tours in the area that we're visiting, but we also surround ourselves with music. And there's musicians entertaining the guests almost continuously. It's quite a madhouse. "Back Stage Pass Travel has taken guests to Ireland, Italy, France and Germany, and this year we're offering something quite different — the Pacific Northwest; my home, where I live, where I grew up. We're also gonna be inviting people to come to our rehearsals for our upcoming tour in 2020. It's the 30th anniversary of [QUEENSRŸCHE's] 'Empire' album, so we're performing the entire 'Empire' album front to back, and also the entire 'Rage For Order' album. "So, if you wanna ride ferry boats to the San Juan Islands, visit the quaint sea port towns, if you wanna be one-on-one in rehearsals and hang out with me and hear the music before the tour begins, come onboard." An official description of the excursion reads as follows: "The Pacific Northwest seems to have a little bit everything. You can experience open Pacific Ocean vistas, the puget sound teaming with marine life, majestic mountain ranges and rolling farm land. Shopping and dining are top tier. The wine region in Woodinville, right outside of Seattle, is the second largest in the country and the music scene is world famous. "Geoff Tate was raised on the puget sound since he was 5 years old and has called the Seattle area his home ever since. He was part of the music scene that brought the world QUEENSRŸCHE, HEART, NIRVANA, ALICE IN CHAINS, SOUND GARDEN and many more. Now Geoff would like to share his home and give people his own view of what makes the area so special. "On this week long sightseeing tour you will share experiences unique to this area with Geoff and his fellow musicians. You will attend 2 rehearsal days with Geoff and his band as they get ready for the 'Empire' and 'Rage For Order' tour. You will ride ferry boats to historic sea port towns and experience the culture of the people native to the area. You will spend every day of these 8 days with Geoff experiencing where he calls home." For more information, go to this location. Geoff has spent the last couple of years celebrating the 30th anniversary of QUEENSRŸCHE's "Operation: Mindcrime" album by performing the LP in its entirety on European and U.S. tours. Tate will perform the QUEENSRŸCHE albums "Rage For Order" and "Empire" in their entirety on the "Empire 30th Anniversary Tour" in 2020. 1986's "Rage For Order" introduced a much more polished look and sound for QUEENSRŸCHE. The album featured keyboards as prominently as guitars, and the group adopted an image more closely associated with glam rock or glam metal than with heavy metal (of which glam metal was a subgenre). A video was filmed for the song "Gonna Get Close to You", originally recorded in 1984 by DALBELLO. Released in 1990, "Empire" included the hit ballad "Silent Lucidity", which reached No. 9 on the Billboard singles chart, helped propel "Empire" to No. 7 on the album chart and earned two Grammy Award nominations.
