Was one of the guitar players of Forbidden a HUGE Novembers Doom fan?
Geert just told me that tonight! Great story!!

Could you tell what happened?

Craig said after the Dynamo show that he really enjoyed it, and that he considered himself a fan right then. Whether or not he was just being cool I can't say, but it was nice of him to say! I think we all had a great time that day hanging out, and we all loved seeing Forbidden. Paul mentioned that Russ was a dead ringer for a good friend of his named Austin, we all had a few beers and were laughing about it the rest of the night, including Russ. Good times!

That's good to hear. I think Geert is pulling my leg. ;)

What did Geert say exactly? Was there more to the story?

He said that when he entered your dressing room before or after the show, you guys told him you were fans of Forbidden. Later when he entered the Forbidden dressing room these guys told him they were fans of you guys. Both bands were reluctant make make the first step to meet the other guys.

After some encouragement of Geert you guys met and the Forbidden guitarist even asked for an autograph from I believe Larry.

When I heard it I thought it was a real funny story. It made me think of a story Jeff Waters of Annihilator once told me about Annihilator and Destruction.

I was surprised to hear nothing of the sort happed at the Dynamo. Hmm..

Interesting for sure. haha Well, I can't speak for those guys, but yeah, we are all fans of Forbidden, without a doubt. That entire trip was filled with career highlights for me. Playing a European festival, Graspop. Playing the legendary Dynamo club with a band who's singer had a HUGE influence on my vocals back in the day. Meeting and playing with the metal legend that is Dan Swano... It was a good fucking week.

For those who don't know, When I had used Duane from Devastation (Chicago), Troy from Sindrome, and Lars from Grave as the combination of my vocals, it wasn't until I heard Russ from Forbidden on Twisted into Form sing the clean sections of "Out of Body" that I realized I wanted to incorporate "clean" vocals into ND. People assume many things on where our roots come from, but I was able to tell Russ that story, and thank him for doing what he does, and he turned out to be a very cool guy, who Chris mentioned, could be the twin of one of my best friends, Austin.

I know Draconian <3's the ND!
