1994 Fender 40th Anniversary Strat

It all has finally been passed on to me!! :kickass:

He used to run a music store and gig when i was young, he also gave me his live sound rack and a plethora of random guitar shit acquired along the years. (pictures coming soon). Just thought I would share the surprise with you all!

ha, my dad would have sold it all and banked the money.... luckily i'm not exactly a chip off the 'ol block.. i've already given my younger brother (younger by 20 years and more like a son) 6 guitars, a Laney half stack, a rack full of guitar gear, drum machine, 4 track, and Digital Performer and a MOTU interface, + KRK monitors. he's my grateful dumping grounds for all my shit that would otherwise end up on eBay. my dad's never given me a single thing, and he also played guitar. consider yourself lucky.

before anyone asks, i get along great with my dad.... he's just a tight bastard.

Ah the memories. Both me and Emjay75 played through that same exact rig back in the 1994 era. Rockmaster > M80 Head > Fender Cab. The Rockmaster is a great pre.

Yeah i definitely ganked the EVH cutout haha

That really sucks James I feel for ya bro....I am extremely lucky to have such a rocker chill ass dad, and thats extremely badass that you are the giving kind as well given the circumstances with your dad, props

Also sick that you guys both played the same rig Splat ^_^ this rig still sounds killer as shit...I'll definitely be using the cab with my other heads as well

haha, do you want to be my brother?

Haha, at first I thought the EVH carboard thingie was your dad leaning against the wall :D

hahaha, same! was going to say.. your dad still loves very 80's.

Wow I remember that gray covering on the Fenders.... one of the guitarists in my very first band had a Fender 2x12 combo with that. This was in 1991 maybe?

Skid Row and Dokken covers FTW!

Nice score dude, no joke! If you ever get to the point where you want to sell that Rockmaster, please let me know :)

hahahaha...the funny thing is when my dad had long hair he looks almost identical to EVH :D

Metaltastic: The M-80 is a solid state head/4x12 from the factory, he added the rockmaster/quadraverb after.

Ive been playing the Charvel non-stop...Im pretty sure this is one of the sweetest guitars that ive had the honor to play...I don't think there are many guitars out there that have this much of a butter smooth neck for shredding :D

Awesome rig man!

I have to say my dad was very cool with helping me out when I got started on the guitar, not just as a teacher, but also in the hand-me-down gear department. I started playing on a neck-thru 1991 Peavey Destiny with a Kahler Floyd clone, very nice guitar. He also gave me a Roland GP-16 rack FX unit, a Boss pedalboard with a variety of pedals (Heavy Metal, Digital Delay, Chorus, etc.), and an Oberheim DMX drum machine (Run DMC bitches! LOL.) I ran all this into a Dean Markley practice amp that was so light I could accidentally knock it over easily by pulling my guitar cable. I recorded songs to a Sony Sports boom box. I later got a Marshall ValveState and a 4 track with some money I saved up working at a photo place, and he taught me some production basics.

It's very cool having a mentor like that, and I am very thankful. However, I have to say the most important things I've learned about guitar and production have been the things I discovered myself through experience and research.

Got some pics of the rack finally
