High quality 2 channel interface?

Since I do all my multi-channel tracking out of house, I was looking to get a smaller interface for vocal tracking and such to have in my home setup. My first idea was a RME FF400 but is there any other contenders out there?

Nice preamps and reliability are key, and preferably nothing over 1000 euros!

RME UCX is out and it has better specs than the FF 400.not sure about the price but i think it will be less than 1000 Euro.
I recently tried out the Roland UA 55 (only 2 chanels). Wery good interface with solid driver.

I would also go with the RME UC or UCX in this price range.

Saffire Pro 24 DSP. You can get 3 of them and yet stay within budget you specified.
