I just listened to Razorblade Romance again and was wondering wich band is more famous? I know HIM has more album sales (RR alone sold 750.00 copies) but only in germany, austria, swiss and finland and all of their new albums are shit. But COB are better know in the states, Japan, etc... Btw. does anybody know COB's album sales? I only know FTR was sold around 7.500 times in the states and HOB 8.500 copies in the states in the first week.

Where are all the Ville Valo and Alexi Laiho fan girls now? Are they gone because the guys got too old, or because their music got less romantic?

HIM are nothing but a shadow of their past. Last 3-4 albums have been utter tosh. A few nice unfinished piano melodies here and there with melody-less farting guitars isn't enough. COB went down in 2005 just as HIM did, but HIM went down even worse, unfortunately. There's a limit to everyone's creativity reserves.

HIM went down after after Razorblade Romance, but COB are getting better and better. None of their first three albums reached Nr.1 in finnish album charts. Highest position was FTR on place 3 but I think every album since HCDR reached Nr. 1 in Finland and since AYDY, every album went into the top 20 charts in germany. And speaking of creativity... I have to agree that nearly every new HIM album and songs sounds almost the same but that doesn't belongs to Bodom. Every album is different and there's a huge package of creativity in every new Bodom songs (except WIWI) which you cant tell about the first three albums. Thats bullshit and you know that. Especially in Halo Of Blood and RRF. Before their releases, do you really think anybody had ever expect songs like COTN, HOB, TF or even WIWI?

Here in the US, HIM was more popular than Bodom around 2003-2006. I heard about em' when Love Metal came out.

COB are more relevant these days though, but not as much as around Blooddrunk. They used to be a popular skateboard metal band over here because some famous skater had Downfall in one of his videos.

Both bands are somewhat ancient and irrelevant now because pop punk and hardcore are the dominant genres. Being metal or rock n' roll is considered lame.

I like both bands, but COB are more consistent. Out of the new HIM stuff, I only like a few tracks from Venus Doom such as Cyanide Sun and the title track, but Dark Light and Screamworks are just un listenable. The new album's not as bad as those two, but I found it to be boring except for the last song.

Are they gone because the guys got too old
Ville was starting to look like Ozzy Osbourne for a little bit. Alexi... needs to keep the beard!
