Dudes,

My GF bought last day the new Nickelback Record called: All The Right Reasons.
I'm Telling ya I never heard a mix sounding that fucking good almost never in my live.
The guys who mixed the record are Randy Staub and Mike Shipley.

Im not fucking around the amps sound realling fucking cool and crunchy.
The basekick is right on the stop (especially on the first track drum intro )

And then the Snair... FUCK. go take a listen to it and judge. Don't be like: This isnt death metal. Im saying ya, this record sounds amazing , That guitar crunch... OMG ><!

now THIS band rules ;)

Nickelback have AMAZING mixes. I've said this sooo many times, but they tend to get shunned off. Great mesa captured guitar tone... and drums and bass sound solid as hell- theres one nickelback record that starts on that album i think with drums alone with a few double bass kicks - "follow you home" i think, and it sounds maybe the best kit i ever did hear! Big fan of the nickelback snare myself!

Hhmmmm... will have to look up this album then...

I wonder if that mix will beat alice in chains's "Dirt"?... probably my favorite rock mix!

randy was the engineer that worked on metallica's black album right? he was in the year and half videos if i remember correctly - i haven't watched them in a while.

oh and i agree that nickelback's mixes sound kick ass. not all their tunes are for me, but i can't deny their sound.

Dude - what did you expect? Randy Staub and Mike Shipley are two of the best engineers on the planet.

Tip: LET YOUR GF BUY CD'S !

Mendel..... you should also check out Green Day's album American Idiot. Green Day have always had really good production on their albums (for the eras), but A.I. is just...wow. Agreed with the Nickelback thing. I noticed this a lllllllooooooooonnnnnnnngggggg time ago though. You'd be surprised how many non-metal albums come out and have better production on things than your most favorite metal album. Trippy.

i listen to and reference All The Right Reasons regularly, along with their other two CD's (The Long Road, and Silver Side Up) because of Randy Staub's mixing... he one of my favorites for a while now (he's been around too, just check the credits of Metallica's "The Black Album") and i will buy a CD without question or care for whether i may like the music or not simply if it says "Mixed by Randy Staub" on the back. i do the same with almost any CD mixed by Chris Lord-Alge or his brother Tom, Andy S., Andy Wallace, Colin R., and a short list of a few others. I'm a Rock fan as well anyway, and can't survive on metal alone, so i end up enjoying many of these CD's... such as the NIckelback stuff. Another Killer mix by Randy you might check out: the new Stone Sour.

Mendel...it's ok to listen to Nickelback... you don't have to keep bringing up your girlfriend, ;) we all know you have a Chad Kroeger poster pinned up to the ceiling directly over your bed.

Murphy, it's funny you mention the Stone Sour thing becuase the newest stuff hitting the radio is really catching my ear on the production. I'm curious to go buy the album to hear what they do for the whole thing and hear the production on it.

Since we're on the topic of radio friendly American rock, check out Alter Bridge. I absolutely love their recorded tone. They have that huge open Mesa sound as well. "Metalingus" is a very worthy track.
