If you haven't heard about this already, the most covered thing on the Finnish press lately has been a panel conversation on Finnish national TV called "homoilta" ("gay night"), with subjects such as gay marriage and adoption rights and so on. I haven't seen the show as you can watch it from US, but from what I've read from the newspapers, there was the president bitch Päivi Räsänen from the Finnish Christian Democratic party and her opinions that weren't based on anything concrete, like "the gays cause the humans to extinct and have less of an important role in the society than hetero couples" pissed off a large group of other people, including the archbishop and a lot of celebrities, and caused that over 35 000 people resigned from church. That's like about 1% of the population of Finland.

nice, good to see some people are actually realizing that church people are retarded, and that slowly the world is starting to accept the fact that there is nothing wrong with gay people and they are just as "people" as everyone else

here in austria (and in germany as well I think) a lot of people resigned from church too, after a lot of people talked about how they were molested by priests.

Nice. With Finland´s HDI you don´t even need God anyway!
Meanwhile, here we are having presidential election and the candidates are fighting for the vote of the christian community. Saying that they´re against abortion and stuff. Pathetic. I wish I could mix an aborted human fetus on the host (that stupid bread) machine.
