The USA has the potential to be very good at every sport they turn their hand to, unfortunately the only sports that get any sort of support from business, media and fans there are NFL, ice hockey, basketball and baseball. So if they did play cricket, most of the players would likely be Indians, Pakis and West Indies. Not enough white guys there to be popular with the masses.

As I said before, the only thing stopping the Yanks being good at every sport there is, is that only five or six of them actually get any support. With the right marketing, one day cricket could be as big in the States as it is everywhere, and they'd pretty soon get the hang of it.

BTW: I meant "one day cricket" as in the game, not "one day cricket" as in "one day, cricket"

Yes they are. They were suspended from it during the Apartheid years, but never actually kicked out. It's actually really hard to be expelled from the Commonwealth. They won't even get rid of Zimbabwe, and that country's government is in direct breach of most of the rules for staying in it.
