How Do i record a song at half it's original speed?

Basically I can half the speed of songs in VLC media player and One of my drum tracks sounds reaaaaally good at a third (ish) slower than its original and was wondering how can i either
Import it at that speed
or
Record it at that speed
edit: forgot to mention I DO want to affect the pitch of it aswell (the toms sound like timpanis ) and time stretching only affects the tempo

cuz i know with PT you can do ctr+shift+spacebar to record at half speed (shift+spacebar to playback at half speed)

Cubase just right click on the track -> process -> time stretch

Time stretching doesn't affect the pitch though, i want to affect the pitch if possible
actually i suppose i could pitch shift it down duhhhhh

that method is pitch sensitive

you'd have to play everything an octave lower than it will end up being

formant is what preserves pitch, leave formant off, or use a time stretching algorithm that doesn't support formant shifting
