How do you get "oomph" out of the black/gold set?

I've been noticing lately my kick really lacks and oomph or power in my mixes, often getting drowned out by everything else. Same thing with my snare. My question is, how do you guys process your black/gold truth set to get more power from it? This is the best I've gotten.

Thanks guys!

i wish i knew what parallel compression even was o_o. I've only been doing this for a few months, mind explaining or pointing me to an article that would help?

Send all the drums to a separate buss. Throw a comp on it, fast attack and release, anywhere from 6:1 to 10:1 ratio usually works well and hit it pretty hard. Bring up the "paracomp" track and blend it in with the original drums until you get a sound you like. Doing this will allow the attack of the original drums through while the comped track will fatten everything up. You may also try just sending your shells to the comp track or even just the kick and snare. Experiment with this and see how it works. There are many tutorials around, not sure which one is the best so you may check a few out.

There's already processing done to the samples. Don't compress them (I eq out the room sound from the kick which requires a pretty deep cut between 500 - 800hz), clip each individual drum track so they don't pump your master compressor and jobs a good 'un :)
