...If I arranged and performed one of their songs with a 50 piece orchestra?
I plan to got to University in the next few years to pursue classical studies, composing & arranging.
Now what I'm planing to do is to write a whole repatouire on pieces I've composed for the orchestra, but another requirement is to arrange a song to morph it to make it into your own style.
Eventually, at the end of the course, the requirement is to play the whole repatouire live with the orchestra. Now, I wont be using a classical/acoustic guitar so it'll be like the whole Yngwie thing.
I'm thinking about arranging "River Dragon.."...
What do you guys reckon?

The learning, it is a long monumetal song. or 42147 would work good with an orchestra, as you can have the violins and cellos harmonize the solos

"7 Tongues of God" I would say. "Deconstruction" and "Dreaming Neon Black" would also mesh pretty well with and orchestra.

I've been thinking about arranging "Dreaming Neon Black" for a while but it's gunna be a tough choice since "River Dragon..." and "Engines..." are really tied together but I can only do one...Oh the brewtality lol.
I guess I have another year or two to decide so I guess we can conjure something up.
The reason I chose "River Dragon..." is partially based on audience participation. Yes, most of the audience will consisted of 55 year old, cherry consuming and pipe smoking conissuers but getting that crowd to go "Ey, Ey, Ey, Ey" during the solo would own so much.
I'll make a night out of it, have it recorded by a few friends who are studying multimedia etc. so you guys are able to watch it lol... My first go at a solo release or Live DVD haha.
It's gunna take a while to do, but God-Strike me down if I don't do it.

It is an ambitious plan indeed, and with your lessons, your gunna help me do it lol. Not to the point of writing it with me, but by teaching me your method of guitar, I'll grab a sick grasp on the song and morph it into something hopefully you and the guys'll be proud of.
Thanks for the well-wishing lord...It means heaps. I have only started my musical journey recently... The reason I say recently is because I never used to practise and I was totally abstain from all written forms of music. Now, I've matured, grown up and realised that both theory and tons of practise will get me to my musical enlightenment lol.
As I always say... Your goal isn't a destination, it's a journey.
I'm having withdrawls of serious arpeggios, so I'm gunna go practise haha.
