I haven't been on this forum much lately, but dammit if everytime I am its not ungodly slow.
I have been often entertained, sometimes disturbed/appalled by the howard stern show, and I have different thoughts about the FCC (I do think its absolutely necessary on public airwaves, but as always I don't want it overreaching its boundaries) and the extent to which shows like stern cross lines. However, stern's rantings about conspiracies against him are idiotic to me and crazy - I mean, honestly, if you don't
listen to howard stern you will probably not hear about him ever. People don't (outside of new york city) walk around talking about him much these days, and he's a comedian, so he's not much of a hot topic in any important sense. My point is, I think his maniacal ego is fueling his ideas about the most powerful man in the world having it in for him, because he hardly an influential force of any kind and I hope too many crackhead bob fans aren't acting like droogs and believing whatever he says, because it's really kind of Andy Kaufmanesque BS thus far. All the same, at his best Howard is insanely hilarious and entertained me many mornings at my old job, and at his worst he's the world's most unneeded political activist. ...I guess I'm indifferent? He's really misguided in railing for Kerry anyhow, who would, I suspect not have much of a problem stabbing his mother in the head if it would benefit him politically, much less crush Stern - I don't think there's a single issue Kerry hasn't been on every side of, and as usual the FCC thing was met with his usual gray, ambiguous type of response, which is the transparent politician's way of answering something without answering it so he can move to the most advantageous side of the issue at whatever time.
