Modded my old Schecter Omen 6 that I rarely ever play, now fitted a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge, bored out the tuning posts, filed the nut + bridge, set neck relief etc... and created a guitar/bass hybrid of sorts. Custom string gauges (2 bass strings + 4 guitar strings) 85, 65 / 46, 34, 20, 16 (hence the name, Hybridian) tuned to Drop E. A bit of an experiment, really
This is the first demo track I've written to test my new beast and I thought I'd share it with you guys to see how you reckon it sounds.
From memory, guitars were TSE 808 > PodFarm2 > LeCab > Catharsis Pres (5 or 8, can't remember which). Not sure what I used for the ambient/droning 'lead' throughout the track but I'd be happy to recall the session if anyone wanted to know. The bass track was a combination of DI + high gain ampsim blended with clean bass ampsim bused, eq'd + comp'd. Drums are Addictive Drums 2.
Thanks for checking it out
P.S. If anyone would be interested in trying some vocals on this, I think that would be rad.
