Hi guys, I have made a short clip of a couple of riffs (boring arent they ;) ).

I read and read and read this forum and am just trying to get to at least demo quality before I spend some money on a professional mix.

I have 2 versions :

Catharsis spreshigh : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10842784/01-HOPE the band_Downtuned Generic Metal Riffs 1.mp3

lolzgreg ASEM : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10842784/01-HOPE the band_D.G.M.R. #1 lolzgreg.mp3

Any tips that can help me are very welcome, im still learning and really just a guitarist not an engineer (yet) .

Cheers.

Cheers for the reply mate, yes I think I agree with you, the ASEM impulse works a little better here.

The drums I really struggle with, I have to start reading more and practicing programming.

Thanks :)

Your mix is very clean. I really like the guitar sound.

the only thing to work on is the drum humanization... which is very robotic.

But the overall sound is very good for me.

Thanks for the comment, I was really aiming for clean with this, Im glad the mix translated well.

Nice guitar tone man. Which guitar and pre did you use?
Cheers mate, actually the guitar is my old beater.
