I´m being offered..

X series is ok, but if you want bete construction, get a DKMG Serge has that and it rips.

I would get it, the quality is right up there with the DK2. The only few things that irk me about the DK2 is the flimsy floyd copy and lousy pickups/electronics (no big deal, planed on putting real pickups/ 3-way in it anyways) and the big block heal joint, the rest is slammin, lightweight and great sustain and feal, great fealing neck and really well done frets, so smooth and easy to get speed and gotta love the bound sharktooth, which the DXMG doesnt have. :( .. Ive had my DK2 now for about 3 months...I want a USA model really bad, if you can wait to save up for one, get it, cause if the quality from Japan is this good, imagine the hand crafted american versions..

As far as I know, the DXMG has a pair of actual EMG's.. Not just Duncan designed-stuff.. And this is literally half the price of a new one.. He even offered sending it to me, today..-Hopefully I'll be able to send it back if it's not worth it though..

They have the crappy non active EMG-HZ pickups, which are pritty comparable to the duncan shit. the only difference between the DX and DK that I can tell are the fret markers and a extra Tone control..

Alright.. I'll take your word for it - Thanks. :)

but it doesnt really matter, your still getting a kick ass guitar for a steal, and the pickups should be ok for a little while, but you should end up changing them out for some nice 81/89's or some nice DiMarzios once your got the extra cash, because changing them is like comparing night and day. (This is where Ebays comes in really handy, tons of pickup dealers/music stores offering bran spankin' new pickups at way under list value) also changing the stock pickups out can add a lot more value to the guitar as well..

These guitar companys always find ways of cutting costs down on there guitars, especially ones under the $500 mark. And from my expirence, its usually always pickups first, using licenced floyds, not real ones, and mediocre electronics. and of course, last but not least, making them overseas where labor is much, much cheeper than the US. (compare our minimum wage, like $7+/hour in the US to overseas, wheres its common to find $7/ day rates, for a 12+ hour shift., lol...

Bob, I have the DXMG actually. I got mine for 350 at guitar center (weaseled my way out of the 450 dollar price). I really think this guitar is a good deal, but the price you're being offered isn't a complete steal. I really like mine though. Lowered the action and it plays pretty well. The only problem I've had is a shitty volume knob. It comes with the following features:

EMG HZ passive picups
Sharkfin inlays
Reverse headstock
Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo
3 way switch

I would have gotten the DKMG, which has a pickup boost, but it was out of my price range at the time. Anyway, if you put real EMGs in this thing, it's a pretty worthy metal guitar for one hell of a price. No soloist, but good buy nonetheless.

you know I have a shitty volume knob also on my DK2, I wonder if this is a common problem with japan jacksons. It was fine, but it got all loose and now cuts out every now and then..
