report: kinda sucked. I watched it for about an hour and a half and then shut it off with fifty minutes remaining. i guess this might be because the Kubrick version and the book are SO good that an "okay" movie seems like it "sucks" in comparison, but I was still quite disappointed. there were also a bunch of senseless changes (like, not even justified in the interests of making it more movie-like or even Hollywood-like), like dropping the second half of famous and beautiful lines from the book. Jeremy Irons is good, but not awesome like James Mason; I didn't especially like Sue Lyon so I thought Dominque Swain would be much better, but she's SHITTY. and of course nobody can beat Peter Sellers in the role of Quilty.
