Saturday, December 28, 2002, I get to box for the first time in my life. I have always wanted to box or kick box. It is just some dumb amatuer night, but still, it is going to be so much fun. This rules. Life can be good sometimes. I am greatly looking forward to this.

A few years back I went to my frind's boxing club and ended up sparring a few rounds with him and I'd have to agree with your statement. I understand people's detest for it, but it truly is, to use the cliche, a science, the hour of training I had before stepping into the ring was all but useless.

I've always had a lot of respect for boxers. I imagine it's very much a battle of endurance, as you will inevitably take some of that blunt... Not my thing, but perhaps in an idealized view, it's very much a good example of endurance, pain tolerance, and self-discipline, which I can wholly admire.
