I bet xfer will blame the space shuttle diaster on pro-palestinian sabotage

The sad thing is I don't believe it was terror-related. It's sad because this is just one of those things that makes it a little bit easier for someone to say "This is a message from God. Death to Israel!" and feel justified. All tragedies can be misinterpreted as signs from above by the malicious, but some situations have a more poignant--and more damaging--effect, because of political or religious considerations, and this is one of them.

It's also fucking TRAGIC because for a few years now I have been looking forward to the upcoming man-on-Mars "space race" between the U.S. and China, and I think that's probably not going to happen now. Also, I bet the space-tourism industry is dead in the water--it's been set back by decades as wealthy potential space-tourists see the possibility for spectacular accident and decide to spend their $20 million elsewhere. Sure, space tourism was hugely wasteful, but it had the potential of becoming cool and useful as it became cheaper and more popular. But no more.

P.S. How did they know Ilan Ramon didn't have dandruff?

They found his Head & Shoulders in the desert.

Immediately on the news they were saying: "We must remind people that it is a logistical impossibility for the space shuttle to have been shot down."

I don't think even the US can shoot down something moving many times past the speed of sound 200,000 ft. in the air. I could be wrong.

no, we are talking shot down - by an electromagnetic pulse!
