I bought a house last summer. It was cool until my first mortgage payment. That wasn't as cool. Then there were the property taxes. Those weren't cool either. But I don't have a neighbor on the other side of my wall. That's cool.

Brand new home so it was just estimated. But it was only short by $500 so I can't really complain.

Yes, 500 a year. Total of $3500 in taxes a year or so. That comes to a tax rate of 21.96 or something like that.

Holy shit, that's a lot of taxes. I pay for premium almost downtown real-estate, although its only a condo, but I pay 1100$ of taxes a year.... and I thought we were a socialist province...

Property taxes are a little pricey but they are tax deductable. Kind of seems stupid that taxes are tax deductable. But what I pay is about average for Wisconsin. What saves our asses here, in Green Bay at least, is the fact that property is pretty cheap.
