Ericlingus: I used Massive and FM8 from Native Instruments. You can make som REALLY nasty shit with those synths. It's a bit tricky learning how to use them, but once you do you're gonna fall in love haha. If you think metal requires lots of automation at times, you need to try this. Automating a metal song is nothing like doing stuff like this, it sure is a challenge and I've learned alot! You almost need Aspergers or something like that to be able to do it haha.

Did you use any resources or tutorials to learn the ropes when it comes to doing the envelopes, automation, glitching etc. or was it all learned through trial and error?

Well, I'd say it's a combination of watching/reading tutorials and then trying it out yourself. Lots of trial and error for sure! Often you stumble upon a cool sound when you're actually making a mistake haha
