All advice/criticism is welcome, with so many options it's often easy to lose sight of what sounds good or not so extra pairs of ears are very valuable

What language did you use to make it man?

no programming involved at all at the moment, just using graphical waveshapers and eqs. However, this is just due to me being lazy and i'll likely write it in C++ or Faust when i have some time

You should totally check out this http://quitte.de/dsp/caps.html and this http://quitte.de/dsp/preamp.htm if you haven't already. At least if you're going to use C++, there's some really useful stuff there to learn from.

Sounds pretty good for your first sim (I guess?), way better than my first sim that I programmed in python.
