I Must Be Emo....

HA! Funny. As much as I hate to say it, one of the most talented drummers I have ever jammed with loved Emo. Stuff that makes Staind and newer Deftones look like Thrash Metal. He was totally into it, and well, is why we ended up only jamming for a few months then he moved back to OKC. Picture Kerry King jamming with the drummer from Staind. Train wreck.

Well Emo back in the day (I mean before MTV got a hold of it) was AMAZING.
Bands like Sense Field, Far, Texas Is The Reason, Farside, etc. we're fantastic in say '97-'99. Truly groundbreaking and beautiful.

Then emo was used to describe this horrible pseudo-goth, "I'd slit my wrists if I wasn't so sad", Planet of The Apes haircut sporting, tight t-shirt wearing, "boo, my girlfrind left me because I'm too sensitive...... but I still love her", "my childhood was so fucked up", "I just wanna go to Hot Topic, only they understand my pain" bullshit!

I kinda get that drift from that place. The only cool thing about that place is you can sometimes find some cool tunes (SOMETIMES) and the occasional good shirt. I can remember being proud of what it was like being an "outcast." Now its a trend. Makes me long for the days of the Lars Ulrich hair, ripped up jeans, and the denim jacket covered in patches.

Yeah, as long as we don't bring back his white leather jacket!
