i have decided that megalomania will be my new pursuit in life. i am hoping for complete world domination by next week but i am not on a strict schedule.

i will, however, gladly except libations being poured in honor of my glorious name, and vigils and prayers being spake unto the wind so that my ears will fill with the devotion of my people.

animal sacrifice is not required nor encouraged
 
ha, xfer, you are a precursor to my post:

I am not a musician. however, rock music and the history of such music is one of my life's great loves. It is in this spirit that I offer to you this primer on how to emulate the guitar gods of the past, and use them as a springboard to your own forms of megalomania.

1. adapt your name slightly; either insert a "van" or "von" and become Gregory van Massi. You could alternately claim to be from Sweden and that your name is an ancient scandinavian slang term for "young Viking warrior."

2. Play with your back to the audience.

3. refuse to transcribe your solos, not because "I forgot how I played it"; that would reveal a human weakness. Rather, choose a haughty tone in which to announce, in the royal plural, "We deign not to share Our knowledge with lesser mortals."
 
one thing you may want to consider is (more or less, it is open to tinkering) vague referencing to a darker master.

even if you don't have one, even if you are entirely self-taught, the human ape will respond to what they percieve as an established chain of command.

yeah, god didn't have a god, but his son did.
 
Nick, can i refer to you as my darker master. i mean it would be, as you say, to instill fear in name only and would not require the raining of fire, smoting of enemies, or splitting of earth that usually falls under the traditional responsibilities of dark masters.

One thing that would help would be to shred in every single song constantly with absolutely no regard for the actual song itself. Imagine Wayfarer, but with non-stop shredding over the entire song! That would be BRILLIANT! YOU WOULD BE GOD!!!
