Eventho they had like 3 hours of really boring talk on digital networks and RF wireless stuff, there was one comment that stood out from the lecture; Since ADAT is so old technology (from late 1980s, published in January 1991), it costs about $.69 to add the digital connection parts and lisence wise and since the licensing fee to Alesis (you know, ADAT stands for Alesis Digital Audio Tape) is so low, that connection won't be disappearing in like at least 10-20 years. I mean, 8 in and 8 out analog i/o costs 10 times as much.
