they had this pretty awesome arena-fight free-for-all match between two teams of remote controlled robots. controllers were given out to the audience, this huge arena was set up with hundreds of nostalgic action figures glued into styrofoam "grandstands", neon-ish tubing strung around the arena, strobe lighting, all that stuff! the goal was to push balls into the opponents' goal and knock people over. and the guy who ran it kept releasing more toys into the ring as obstacles, like one of those giant walking robots, and speedy little windup cars, and the like.
pretty fun! neat homemade electronics all around (the workshopping had been going on all week) and performances by noise artists using speak and spells and the like.
