Ive owned this Ibanez Premium guitar (Which i bought for the supposedly "amazing quality" fretboard and fretwork) for not even 5 months, and there's minimal to no fretware and all the sudden I'm playing one day and I feel the string get stuck on this...
(sorry for not resizing)

A very non normal chip/dent, not smooth and gradual like normal fretware but like the string just chewed through it in one slice. Absolutely zero fretware anywhere else just on this 4th fret under the E string. Mad mad mad mad

Also I've wondered this from day one of purchasing this. Is this normal for a rosewood board to have this much pitting/ be this porous?

Kind of bummed. I've owned 3 ibanez's and never had an issue:bah:

Yes rosewood is meant to look that, make sure to clean it every few months with something like Dunlop Fingerboard Cleaner followed by a coat of conditioner. This will stop any build of grime in the pours and keep it from having that dried out look.

It looks you dropped something on it, your going to have to get the fret filed down if its only a tiny dent.

Mother fuck

I suppose you guys are right. There's no other normal way that could have happened.

And the rosewood was just a mystery to me. All other rosewood boards I've played have had the specks of the pores but they looked flush or filled all nice and smooth with the rest of the board. This just looks like a sponge and some of the pores are pretty deep, I kind of like the way it looks though definitely has more character

Well, ill just play the shit out of this guitar for a while so I feel like im getting my money's worth for a fret leveling :(
