Ice Hockey World Championships

Meh. The WC is a lose-lose situation:

a) Finland wins: I'm gonna have to listen to the "YEEEEEAH FINLAND 2009 FUCK YEAAAAAH"-screaming for at least five years.
b) Finland loses: I'm gonna have to listen to the "YEEEEEAH FINLAND 1995 NEVAR FORGET"-screaming for the next year before it's on again.

That sounds like the english with their one world cup victory.

The rest of the UK has been hearing about that one for about 43 years now.

IIHF tournament is going on at the same time as the playoffs due to awesome scheduling, you snatch. At any rate, after teams (like my ultra loser fuckface NY Rangers) get eliminated, then players will sometimes bolt to their national teams, like Nikolai "Playoff Ghost" Zherdev.

It's funny being a Scottish person in Finland at the moment... Everyone is "WOO HOCKEY!" and i'm seemingly the only "WOO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!" guy :(

Well, there was 6 of us playing football (what the rest of the world plays) in a full-sized football hall  There we were, using 700 m2 of the 4600 m2 field in an empty hall  It was a nice match though, 3-vs-3 with small goals (40 cm high, 50 cm wide) :muahaha:

If they wouldn't be doing Hockey WC every fucking year I would actually care. There is no prestige in winning it now.

The only games I really enjoy are Sweden vs. Finland. There is always so much heart in those matches!

We suck at hockey (the icy version, we're pretty damn good at field hockey), therefore I don't care haha!

It's football all the way!

I still get a good laugh reminding my fellow Finns about the 5-1 -> 5-6 Finland-Sweden match whenever Finland is a couple of goals ahead in a match :D
