Iced Earth- Plagues of Babylon lyric video

Ripper's work were some of my favorite Iced Earth albums.. the Glorious Burden is an IE classic, and Framing Armageddon was decent, in my opinion.

Oddly, I couldn't stand his work with Judas Priest.

I liked Rippers work with both.....it was his solo stuff I did not like...go figure....lol.

I like this song........nothing special.....though suppose they could of cut a minute or so off the front end....unless this is the opening track....blah blah blah....

The way I approach listening to Stu is that he's a good hybrid of both Matt and Ripper. From what I gather, I believe that's why Jon brought him on board.

~Brian~

I also think that's why they brought him on, but he needs not to try to emulate them completely. That's what will get them in trouble. As I said, this song isn't his fault for sucking; it's Jon for just writing a boring song.

Priest is my favorite band, and I hate those albums. Pure crap. I attribute that to the songwriting though; I think they lost a lot at that time with Halford not only as a singer but as a songwriter. Considering most of his solo stuff (outside of Two) were great, I put those albums completely on Glen and KK.

How would you explain Nostradamus though? :muahaha:

Ripper's finest hour for me remains Winters Bane - Heart Of A Killer (the whole album, not just the song)

An attempt to go beyond the corner they painted themselves into? I liked that album.

I liked the power metal influences on Nostradamus - I think a lot of the Priest fanbase were the ones that stopped musical time when Halford left the band, and abhorred the addition of keyboards.
