Goddamn they are beautiful.

Ack, I dunno dude, I think they look incredibly tacky  But hey, if they sound good, then right on! (that's quite the price though)

They definitely have the vintage look, which a lot of non-drummer guys probably wouldn't appreciate, but I think they're dead sexy  Unfortunately there's pretty much no way in hell I can afford them

look tasty.
probably sadly like a lot of 'custom' drum companies these days. Keller shells with fancy hardware.

Eventually it's all the same, and you can doit yourself. There's nothing special about most of the drums, once you have some knowledge you can put it together yourself.

Yeah, I built a maple snare last year with a keller shell and "fancy" hardware. It wasn't difficult at all, though I did just stain it versus applying a wrap.

It's a 13" x 7", maple, with a tung oil stain and brass hardware.

It worked out to be around $220, plus the cost of the heads. So around $250 total. There are plenty of great snares in that price range, so it wasn't really a project I did to save money; I just wanted the experience of making my own drum. Over the summer I'm considering building a stave snare from scratch, which would be a lot more difficult, but hella fucking awesome.

Im in to 80's hairmetal, but i have to say.. that drumkit looks gayer then Freddie Mercury:

I really like it. It's 7" deep so it has a nice body to it, yet it's 13" in diameter, which makes it sort of inherently high pitched. It's quite unique, and excellent for metal.

Unfortunately it's terrible for jazz, which is what I've been playing lately, so that's why I'm looking to build another

I'd say that's a bit pricey for that kit, there are a lot of other "custom" companies out there that'll do the vintage look with Keller shells at a lower cost.

That said, those are some beautiful tubs! I've got Ludwigs in white satin flame though, so I always dig the retro-looking kits more

Dude a stave snare from scratch? That's nuts! If you do that up, you BETTER put up some pics!

Haha yeah, I actually started researching it today. Essentially all you need it a planer and a miter saw, which I have access to through a family friend. For a 14" drum you cut the wood to 2.2" pieces with 9 degree "flanges" and glue them together. The hardest part is sanding the wood down and getting proper bearing edges.

It would have to be a summer project, as there's no way for me to do it at school, but if I end up doing it I'll definitely put up pics!
