If I was Varg I'd be demanding royalty checks, so that I could upgrade from a Casio to a better system...

Am I the only one around here that finds this band (album) to be completely over-rated? It's so boring; with really bland songs and production this makes me want fall asleep. The music itself doesn't really go anywhere and even the musicianship is mediocre. The only redeeming factor is the (somewhat) cool cover art.

Then again, everything I've heard from Burzum I've found to be decidedly mediocre with the exception of the cover art. How appropriate.

It is music built around repetition. I think the fact that the album is under 40 minutes helps it a lot. If it were much longer, I don't think I'd like it as much. However, they could totally do away with that annoying final casio track.

It's certainly not a masterpiece, but it's a good album. Personally, I prefer their other band, Hate Forest.

But I gotta say Drudkh > Burzum

I agree with Furious B. Druckh is WAY over rated around these parts. I have plenty of CDs of similar music that I listen to WAY more than Drudkh. Maybe that's why you can find my Drudkh CD on ebay as we speak.
