I'm really on the fence about the CZ museum

It seems like most of their collection is either fakes or bigfoot-related (casts). It's the really disproportionate ratio of fakes:real specimens (zero??) that bothers me the most.

the cryptozoology museum - a lot of what they have on exhibit is just models, replicas, speculatory artists'-rendition painting, etc. and they don't really seem to have much if anything in the way of real (not man-made) specimens.

I mean it's an inherent problem of course because if they had any real specimens it wouldn't really be very cryptozoological.. but in any case this dilemma is what's putting me on the fence about it.

hm yea that's tough because i guess if they had something that was not disputable, it wouldnt really fit their genre anymore and then wouldn't be there. that's tough. but i mean, i guess it's also really boring to just look at all the hypotheticals too.

it would be awesome if they had mokele-mbembe skeletons or a cut-off chupacabras paw writhing under glass or something, but it's a CRYPTOZOOLOGICAL museum, so these animals obviously haven't been discovered yet. that's one of the main definitions of cryptozoology, you know? i don't know how they would possibly obtain genuine cryptospecies.

obviously, this museum is probably mainly about evidence of existence + possible artifacts + history + influence on society. i don't know what much else you can display at a *crypto*zoology museum. :/

i'm personally really siked to see the life-size models of cryptids, genuine bigfoot casts (and check out it's toe prints, compare them to my own), examine the mystery big cat and ape skulls, look at photographs, videos, evidence, etc. i hope i also find information on a cryptid i've never heard about before. i'm really really really excited! :)

we need to genetically engineer our own monsters/scary rare animals and create our own monster zoo. that would be largely satisfying.
