4th pair of woofers this year alesis mk2actives garbage system refrence but work for me for some reason. i got some ns10s and bm5's and use these just as much
now i feel a little empty with the space open it just doesn't feel the same

aura-tones i think are gonna fill the spot now but im not 100 percent sure anyone got any suggestions as far as low buget refrence system other then the ns10 or auratone but somethign of similar quality i liek to ckeck mixes on multiple monitors before there released

If you're blowing nearfields then perhaps start looking at midfields or mains. My only suggestion in a lower price range is the Dynaudio BM15... and probably get the active version because it has a built in limiter...

never really listen too them that loud i got the bm5's to scream for the tracking monsters that have to have it cranked

i mix at 85db tops the woofers last about 6 months for some reason

they dont like low end at all

bm15's i wanted them since i first got to work on a set
concerned before i spend 2 more g's on monitors

small room 11X12 room no glass non-parallel walls your typical mixing room pretty dead yet neutral i think they might be too much for this room ive only worked with them in room that was alot deeper than mine im worried about my back walls too close to the monitors prob 9ft tops to back wall from where there at i have a huge diffusor and 8 auralx traps on the back wall now thats pretty good with 6.5 and a 10"sub ....i will prob have to beef it up to 16 traps if i do get the bm15's have to get the a.e. back down here and check some more specs out on the low end tuned to 40hz now ok to about 100db's then it gets heavy

ive had my alesis mk2 passives for 3 years and have had em cranked for mixing etc and havent blown em yet..

however, my mate used to have some MK2 Actives and he kept blowing his speakers. so its deffo sumat to do with the different speaker/built in amp combination!

something has to be terribly wrong for u to blow´em up....that would be too much bad luck for one guy only

I second or third or however many it is now that something is wrong if you are consistently blowing woofers in active speakers.
Check out the the mixcubes if you want an aura-tone type reference.
