in case anyone didn't know, Kayo Dot is playing in Brooklyn tonight

the show did rule. i saw einstürzende neubauten the next night and i think kayo dot was even more riveting. it was really really great.

"Josh, what are your thoughts on that experience?"
"I'm never playing guitar ever again. I think I'm ten times smarter than I was twenty minutes ago. I think they are unhuman. They've obviously been commiting blood sacrifices to get to this level."

yes!

Trash IS a reallly cool venue, and I think this show was a rarity: all four bands on the bill really did rock. I seriously can't wait for the upcoming Arctopus show in Boston...

No pictures--my camera's still in Italy--but I did FILM the Kayo Dot performance with DJ's camera! Two caveats:

1. During the last song, the display screen got all slow-mo for some reason. No idea if the actual tape was screwed up, too.

2. I was kinda drunk, so there are some...um...interesting zoom choices.

also i can't believe the Lamours gig was so bad that it could cause you to say "Your band is playing in New York? I'm sorry man, that sucks. :(" did a bunch of frat boys show up and run a train on your drummer or something?

the reasons why Trash ruled:

1. putting the iron maiden derek riggs symbol on the sign for our show.

2. being able to play 3 songs from Seasons in the Abyss and 1 song from Killers on the jukebox.

3. the bartender who looked alot like a drag queen version of fran drescher complimenting me on my buffy t-shirt.

4. disco ball
