I think I got a pretty nice sound for it. Leads were kinda hard to find something fitting but I think I got pretty close even though the lead sounds on The Jester Race album are amazing. Tell me what you think about the mix!

Actually not very much compression at all but yeah I notice it quite a lot at some parts now that you mention it. I think it's more the tone I have on rhythm guitars that makes it like that sometimes, I'll look into it for future stuff! Thanks for the other feedback too!

how'd you get the drums? did you find a midi file for the song or did you just figure the beat out for yourself?

did you program them exactly or just similar enough. I'm always curious how people go about this. If they actually copy the beat exactly or not.

Wen covering well-known bands, you can easily find and download some 'Guitar Pro' tabs. Just check if it has drum MIDI inside, but most do. Export the MIDI in Guitar Pro and import it in your DAW. You will probably will need to remove all the unwanted instrument tracks and just keep the drum and maybe synths if there are any.

Easy peasy, it'll save you a ton of time compared to programming it yourself. And a lot of those files are extremely accurate, too!

I agree sound weird n pumpy. I suggest using a completely different set of software on the stereo output

when comparing it to the original it is really good, I think i/we might fall into the trap of expecting your mix to sound modern and clear when the original is obviously 1996 and a bit of a shitty recording imo

well done
