In Flames featured in new Pendulum album

God, this is really catchy.
It definitely is, I've heard the full song aswell, it is up on YouTube, but with shitty quality. the riff somewhat reminds me of The Hive + DnB actually, and I like Anders Vocals alot, it's not as on asop at the end of every sentence he made that noise.
You don't hear the chorus in that preview, it's really catchy aswell :P
This is what I love about In Flames, never afraid to experiment and do something different, and not giving a crap about what people thinks about them. They do what they like, and they do it for themselves, that's why I respect them so much.

I agree about the vocals. He doesn't have that nasaly inhale at the end of every passage. I think he does it once in this song? I wish if he was going to remain with his modern style, he would stick to Clayman/R2R style. It's still intense, but doesn't have that annoying "period" to his sentences.

I cant wait for this album to come out. In my opinion, this is amazing. It's my favourite Metal band and my favourite Electronic band collaborating. I thought everyone was going to say "OH NOES ITS TEH RETURN OF STYE. THIS SUX. D:"
I notice his vocals are getting better now. Is it me or does he sound more aggressive and slightly lower pitched now? Especially the part at the end of the preview where he says "If I got no place".

I'm not a fan of the song itself, but Anders' vocals sound good in this. If he carries that kind of vocal performance onto the next album it'll be a step in the right direction for sure.

Well I'd call it Medium Pitch, it is lower indeed, or well it depends what you compare it too, you've only heard the preview I suppose? he goes higher pitched background vocals in the chorus. The chorus is really addictive after a few listens :P I just really wish he would use his new-style death growl more often..like in the song F(r)iend he has the high pitched scream layered on top of it, should be the other way around imo :P
The song gets an 8.5/10 of me, I really dig it

electronic instruments + metal != nu metal
Even though I like STYE.

I like this song as well. Like you all said, his voice isn't whiny like in ASOP with the weird whimpering sounds he makes at the end of each sentence he does.
It is deeper than stuff like Come Clarity, but it's not as intense. He's kind of scream singing, but it sounds good though.

The guitar work sounds great, very nice melodies in the music. I love the riff near :46.

I wonder who was on what, like I know Bjorn and that one guy probably did guitars, but how about the bass and drumming?

Yeah the guitar work is REALLY nice in my opinion too. About that, I don't know if Björn and Niclas did it or if only Björn..It just says featuring In Flames.
I'm almost certain Peter & Daniel is playing Bass and drums. Pendulums part in the song is the Drum N' Bass in the background, and chorus vocals. and some keyboard/synth parts aswell. So it's more like In Flames featuring Pendulum :P Either way it kicks ass.
Also about the song, I don't know but the riff that starts at :46 totally reminds me of The Hive with a tiny bit more speed.

First post, what's up guys :) As for the drums, I believe KJ Sawka (Pendulum's drummer) did them. Here's a Twitter from Rob Swire (lead singer, mastermind, etc.):

@KjSawka lol we just managed to get that insane drum session you did for the metal track aligned to grid and triggered...took 40000 hrs!!!

Regardless, song is amazing. The only In Flames song I've heard apart from this was the one on Guitar Hero. Will definitely be checking out more of them!

Welcome :) My advise is that you start with A Sense Of Purpose from 2008, and then you work your way backwards with the discography. You can read about IF in Wikipedia. You got some sweet stuff that is going to hit your ears soon :P
