IN STUDIO VIDEO: Allanah Myles cover with 7 strings!

Hey all,

Here's a little "in studio" video of a recent mix of mine. The song, "Black Velvet" by Allanah Myles, recorded for the upcoming CBC TV series, "Cover Me Canada." ...sort of a Canadian 'American Idol' but with bands.

The band had 4 songs to choose from to audition. The other choices were selections from Bryan Adams, Gordon Lightfoot & Tom Cochrane. (yeah, not much metal potential there)

The mix is mine, but I was completely uninvolved with the shooting & editing of the video... I only had a couple of days to complete this, so my attention was focused on the music.

Here's the hilarious part: we used my super el-cheapo Ibanez 7 string for the rhythm parts.

... of course we had a couple of higher end ones on hand for the solos.

Drums are natural except for the kick.

Sounds good man but i don't know if i dig the arrangement of the song?? And i can't stand those girls singing in a mix headvoice kind of style. Always sounds a bit out of tune.
