Seems like they've set their pretentious streak aside a little bit more and just wrote whatever came out, seems more genuine like.

looking very forward to this. I like the artwork that I've seen accompanying the album, but I feel it's a little too inspired by Tool's and Alex Gray. looking forward to the tunes nonetheless.

Was he playing an 8 or 9 string guitar at the end there or was that just a lighting trick/illusion?

Its a 9 string with unison strings for the G B & high E of a standard tuned guitar. I forget the make but it was designed for the Matt Pike from High on Fire.
