Kilpop conducted an interview with IN THIS MOMENT guitarist Chris Howorth and vocalist Maria Brink at the Las Rageous festival, which was held April 20-21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. You can now watch the chat below. Speaking about IN THIS MOMENT's engaging live performances, Maria said: "I think we push theatrical boundaries. We do almost like a Vegas/Broadway kind of [show], but it's still very passionate and honest and it's sensual and it's angry and it's sad and it's visually beautiful. We're trying to do something different, and be remembered for something else." Added Chris: "To encapsulate what she's saying, musically and visually, we're trying to create some kind of experience that people will feel and relate to and connect with somehow. No matter what it is, stylistically, that's what we're trying to do." Asked where she gets the inspiration for IN THIS MOMENT's visually stunning live show, Maria said: "I get it from everything — anything that's theatrical, watching the other bands, looking up Vegas shows online… anything that can just inspire me. I'm always searching for inspiration." Added Chris: "Just to kind of expand on that a little bit, being her musical partner for this long and trusting her inspiration, one thing about her is if she doesn't feel a connection to whatever the lyrics are, she doesn't wanna do it. And the same thing with the show and everything, it kind of takes different directions. But I think a lot of it's based in things that she's already been through, and certain things will inspire her as well, but a lot of it is rooted also in things that she's went through in the past." IN THIS MOMENT is preparing to begin the songwriting process for its next studio album, tentatively due in 2019. The disc will be the follow-up to last year's "Ritual", which included the band's eerie cover of Phil Collins's "In The Air Tonight". "Ritual" was produced by IN THIS MOMENT's longtime collaborator — and multiple Grammy Award nominee — Kevin Churko (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, OZZY OSBOURNE).
