How is there not a thread dedicated to this band? I'm pretty sure we've had fans of these guys around and I wouldn't be surprised if they made a few more of you into fans at HCIII.

I hadn't heard much of or about their latest album but I've given it a few listens recently and damn this is good shit. I hardly buy any metal these days but I think I'll have to go get this one. I already have their previous three full-lengths and each has been fucking great.

They are one of those rare bands that I never can seem to decide which album is my favorite because my favorite always just seems to be the one I listened to last.

:headbang:

Inquisition fucking slays, period. These guys tore HC3 apart. Can't believe that I missed these guys when they hit Toronto, though I had a valid reason that conveniently cannot be remembered now.

2 guys that play better and feel more complete than some bands that have 5-6 members? Fuck yes.

I think I need to go listen to Invoking The Majestic Throne of Satan right now. :kickass:

I listened to Invoking the Majestic Throne... about 3 times yesterday in the car... I appreciate it even more since seeing then live. What a band!

Yep, the vocals seem to be the deal-breaker for most people. I wasn't too thrilled with them the first time I had heard them myself but I fucking love them now. If you don't like them initially, they will likely grow on you quickly if you enjoy the music.

My understanding is that Dagon uses that style intentionally, to give the feeling and atmosphere of someone in a deep trance channeling a demonic entity.

Greg, if you enjoy the sound of a man choking on coffee grounds, while a group of toads perform the Heimlich in front of a crowd of old men with emphysema, this band is for you. People who say that this band is an Immortal clone has their heads up their asses, this band stands upon it's own mountain. Total Obliteration!!!

One of my favourite current bands. Nefarious Dismal Orations was a killer album, the most aggressive they've done. Their early material on Anxious Death and Forever Under is really weird, considering what they're doing now. One hell of a change in sound.

LOL. I always love your descriptions.

Listening to the MySpace samples now. The music is very solid and it's easy to see how this would slay live. The vocals are reminiscent of Immortal. I'd say they don't ruin the music for me, but they don't enhance it.

Considering I prefer my Black Metal more mid-paced than non-stop blast beats, would any disc be a better one to buy?

All the albums and most songs have their slow and fast parts. I'd say the most recent one is the fastest so avoid that one for now. While I'd say that Magnificent Glorification of Lucifer is probably the one with the most mid-paced parts, Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan has the best, most hypnotic mid-paced parts (and is my favourite album of theirs overall).

Inquisition is excellent. Prior to Heathen Crusade I only heard a few random songs and they completely blew me away with their live performance. Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan has been kicking my ass all week :kickass:

Ha, I actually listened to the whole Invoking... album today! They've been one of my favourite BM bands for a long time, and their show in London was supreme.

This band is so ridiculous I can't fathom how good they are live on stage, just the two of them. I suppose I should eventually buy some of their product but I can't help but feel it can never live up to the live experience

They enhance each other. I've never experienced anything like it. I thought they were decent until I saw them live and was blown away. Then the recorded material took on new life. Then I saw them again and was more familiar with the material due to constant listening. They destroyed me again. Now the recorded material is even better. It's a cycle, I tell ya.
